Sort it out! Carragher warns Reds: improve or die in Champions League

Jamie Carragher has ordered his Liverpool team-mates to sort out their problems or face Champions League disaster. The Anfield veteran admitted the lacklustre Reds go everything they deserved in going 2-0 down to Fiorentina, thanks to two goals from Montenegro striker Stevan Jovetic. 'We never performed well enough and we know that,' the 31-year-old told the club's website. 'We were slightly better in the second half but it still wasn't good enough. 'Nothing went to plan really. It was a massive game for them and a massive game for us but they seemed to be more ready for it from the start. 'It's something we have to sort out but fortunately there are still four games to go in the Champions League so we have time to put things right.' Steven Gerrard was also left baffled over Liverpool's first half display, a 45 minute period which manager Rafael Benitez has labelled his side's worst in European competition. 'We never turned up for the first half,' said the skipper. 'There was a reaction after the break but at half time we deserved to be losing. We were second best all over the field and that was disappointing.' But with a trip to high-flying Chelsea coming up on Sunday, utility man Fabio Aurelio insists there is no time to dwell on their deficiencies in Florence. 'We would have hoped for a better result here, but we can't think about that now and must think about the future,' said the Brazilian. 'We have an important game in the Barclays Premier League against Chelsea on Sunday and we must try to make things right. 'Football is like this. You cannot think in the past, you must always look to the future. Hopefully it will be a different game and we can go there and get a result.'
