Skrtel has 'cracked' jaw
18 Aug 2009 - 16:01:45
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is likely to be out of action for two weeks with a cracked jaw, according to his agent.
The Slovakia international suffered the knock in a collision with team-mate Jamie Carragher in the early stages of the Reds' 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Skrtel played on until the second half with the problem, but was substituted after he was seen to be holding his mouth for long periods.
He is set to miss Liverpool's home clash with Stoke City on Wednesday, though the absence may extend to a fortnight.
"It is not broken, just heavily cracked," his agent Karol Csonto told SITA.
"According to the doctors, Martin should be back in action within two weeks and he should be wearing a special mask.
"I hope that they will find or create a new one for him."
