Sissoko now set for Juve

Unsettled Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko claims he is finally on the verge of moving to Juventus.

The 22-year-old is currently away on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Mali but expects a move to Italy to be finalised in the next few days.

Sissoko has been linked with a transfer to Turin since the transfer window opened at the beginning of the month, but a move hit the buffers last week when Juve claimed they were not looking to make any January signings.

The former Valencia midfielder became unsettled at Anfield after losing his first-team place earlier this season.

"I have very good contact with Juve and my agent is in Turin to have negotiations," Sissoko told Sky Sports News.

"Yes in the next two days I think the transfer is open.

"It is a very big club and I like this team. For the future they can do very good things and that is why I want to join Juventus."
