Alan Shearer has backed Andy Carroll to be a big success at Liverpool under Kenny Dalglish. Shearer, who played under King Kenny for Blackburn and Newcastle believes Dalglish is the man to get the best from the Reds' record signing. "He's going to a football club with a manager I've got tremendous respect for," said the Newcastle favourite. "Kenny will work with him every single day and pass on tips that he passed on to myself. "He's going there with a great manager who I'm sure will get the very best out of him. "I'd spoken to Kenny many months ago, even before he was in at Liverpool, and spoken to him about the potential of Andy Carroll. "But not in the last three or four months have I spoken to him about Andy. "I think it's an incredible amount of money for a guy that's scored 14 goals in the Premier League and had just half a season in the Premier League, albeit he's done very well. "But the potential is there, he's now a full international. It's just an incredible amount of money." "There's no doubt [Newcastle] will miss him. He has carried the team at times on his own this season."
