Liverpool's chase for Bayern Munich's and Switzerland star Xherdan Shaqiri appears to be coming to a conclusion, according to Gianluca Di Marzio Shaqiri is 'preparing to pack his bags', the Premier League awaits.

The Swiss footballer, who scored a hat-trick against Honduras last night, is wanted by both AC Milan and Roma, but according to Di Marzio Liverpool have the advantage over the other teams chasing his signature.

Shaqiri's brother (who is also his agent) is currently in England to meet with Liverpool's management and discuss the details of the contract for his brother.

Shaqiri's time at Bayern Munich appears to be coming to an end with the Swiss star not heavily featured in Pep Guardiola's plans.

The winger has had a modest 13/14 season  contributing 7 goals and 4 assists, mainly coming from the subs bench.

Given Shaqiri's potential and the trust Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has shown in youngsters the Swiss man will surely get ample time to develop on the training pitches at Melwood before making his Anfield debut.

Xherdan Shaqiri could soon be lighting up the Premier League in a red shirt.
