Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper is reportedly set to leave Catalan giants Barcelona for Liverpool with Samper 'ready to accept' an offer from the Anfield club.

The 20-year-old Spaniard is highly rated in Barcelona but has thus far been unable hold down a place in the first team squad this season.

Samper has been at Barcelona since the tender age of 6 after a successful trial with the club in 2001 and signed a four-year professional contract with Barca in May 2013.

After signing his first professional contract, Samper was promoted to Barcelona B and as of February 9th this year had made 67 appearances for the Segunda Division side.

The defensive midfielder has made just 4 senior appearances for Barcelona this season, including a Champions League outing against Greek side APOEL FC.

It's thought Samper isn't content with his bit part role in Spain and is open to a move away Catalonia, with Premier League side Liverpool looking to be favourites (translation required) to land the youngster.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in the Barca man but Samper is reportedly ready to accept Liverpool's offer as he looks to prove himself and become a first team regular.
