Sadio Mané returns to training next week as the Liverpool winger recovers from knee surgery.

“I am getting better and I want to thank all of the physios for doing a great job,” he said. “Not just with me, they’re always doing a great job.

“Hopefully next week I will start running, jogging, so I am happy and looking forward to it.”

It's too late for the Senegalese international to have any impact on Liverpool's final game of the season at home to Middlesbrough next weekend, but it will hopefully enable him to take part in the pre-season preparations including the Audi Cup in Munich, where Jurgen Klopp's men take on Bayern, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.
