Saddlers seeking reinforcements

Walsall assistant boss Martin O'Connor admits the club have suffered frustration in their bid to sign players before the deadline on Thursday. The Saddlers are desperate to bring reinforcements in to their depleted squad before the end of the emergency loan transfer period ends as injuries to Paul Boertien, Netan Sansara, Stephen Roberts, Jabo Ibhere and Anthony Gerrard leave them with a threadbare squad for Saturday's clash with Cheltenham."We've been short at the back since we got here and we've got until Thursday so we'll keep persevering," O'Connor told the Express and Star."The gaffer is making phone calls, I'm making phone calls, but for whatever reason we've been knocked back on a couple of targets."[LNB]
