Ryan Babel set for Hoffenheim move after Liverpool accept bid

Liverpool have accepted an offer from Hoffenheim for Ryan Babel after the German outfit put the Holland winger at the top of their transfer wish-list.[LNB]Heading Hoff: Ryan Babel is wanted by the German outfit[LNB]The 24-year-old is heading for the Anfield exit having struggled to impress after three-and-a-half years with the Barclays Premier League club following his £11million arrival from Ajax.[LNB]A statement on the Liverpool statement confirmed the news, reading: 'Liverpool FC this afternoon announced they had accepted a bid from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for the transfer of Dutch international Ryan Babel.[LNB]'The Bundesliga Club have now been given permission to discuss personal terms with the player, who has travelled to Germany.'[LNB]Babel had been keen on a loan move back to Ajax in order to play first-team football and thought the deal could pave the way for Luis Suarez to join Liverpool.  [LNB]But Hoffenheim, looking to replace Stoke and West Ham target Demba Ba, will attempt to persuade him to move to the Bundesliga instead after their offer in the region of £8million was accepted by Anfield chiefs.[LNB]The club's main financial backer, software billionaire Dietmar Hopp, told German newspaper Bild: 'Babel was one of the preferred candidates who our manager, Ernst Tanner, was most convinced by.'[LNB] Moving on: Babel wants to play more regular first-team football[LNB]Babel was hopeful over a return to Amsterdam this month as part of the deal that will see Uruguay striker Suarez sign on for Kenny Dalglish's side.[LNB]He told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: 'The transfer of Suarez to Liverpool opens the door for me to go to Ajax.'[LNB]  Long live the King!
