Ryan Babel 300[LNB]RYAN BABEL today admitted Liverpool's attempts to qualify for the Champions League are being undermined by a crippling lack of confidence.[LNB]The Reds surrendered their position as favourites to claim the last spot in the top four last night when they crashed to a surprise 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic.[LNB]Manager Rafa Benitez was incensed with the performance and claimed his team lacked character, as they failed to create a chance of note to test Wigan keeper Chris Kirkland[LNB]To make matters worse, Liverpool are likely to be hauled before the FA's disciplinary committee after they accrued five bookings for the second time in three matches.[LNB]Morale, not surprisingly, is low at Melwood today and Babel fears Liverpool will struggle for the remainder of the campaign if they do not turn things around quickly.[LNB]'We still have hope and faith that we can get fourth place,' said Babel. 'It will be harder in every game. It was going to be difficult even before this game.[LNB]'We needed to get three points and that's why the disappointment is so big that we failed.
