Ryan Babel hopes Liverpool FC form can clinch World Cup selection

Ryan Babel 300[LNB]RYAN BABEL has claimed he can play himself into World Cup contention - by helping Liverpool salvage their top four ambitions.[LNB]The Holland winger looked certain to leave Anfield at one stage during the last transfer window, as he was worried a lack of opportunities would impact on his hopes of going to South Africa.[LNB]Since holding clear the air talks with Rafa Benitez at the end of January, however, Babel has knuckled down and has played, at some point, in all of Liverpool's last 12 games.[LNB]There have been signs, too, that he is coming into form, as his efforts against Portsmouth and Lille were encouraging; what's more, he has chipped in with a couple of goals, too.[LNB]Babel, though, knows he owes it to Benitez, his team-mates and Liverpool's supporters to find a level of consistency that has not always been there during his time on Merseyside.[LNB]But if he can start producing good performances on a consistent basis, he is hopeful it will lead to him securing his place in Holland's 23-man squad - and, more importantly, will help improve Liverpool's push for the Champions League.[LNB]'Every player want to get a run of games to show what he can do. I hope I can continue to show more - If I can then I will be happy,' said Babel.[LNB]'Hopefully I can give something back to the squad. I'm slowly feeling more confident.[LNB]'I'm playing games now and want to show what I can do.[LNB]'The fans expect me always to dribble and take men on.[LNB]'It's not always possible but I try to do it as much as I can.[LNB]'I like to take men on and hopefully I'll show more of that in the future. I know if I play a lot of games then I'll have a good chance of going to the World Cup.'
