Roy welcomes free week

Roy Hodgson was glad to have a full week to work with his players in training. The Reds didn't have a midweek game this week, unlike Sunday's opponents Tottenham Hotspur, which Hodgson believes can be beneficial to the players. "These kind of weeks are very useful in terms of getting a day off for the players, which in some weeks with three matches you don’t get," said the boss. "More importantly it's a chance for us to work at our attacking play and our defensive play and hone the types of skills we’re looking for from the players. "You can't do that when you've got three games in a week. I like these weeks very much. We've got a good idea of what Tottenham are about and it’s going to be a question of can we produce another performance in order to unsettle them."
