Roy looks to young players

Roy Hodgson wants Liverpool's young players to give him a selection headache. Hodgson has confirmed he will rotate his squad for tomorrow's Europa League game with Steaua Bucharest and wants the young players he'll bring in to take their chance and stake a claim for a regular place in the first team squad. "Thursday is a great opportunity for people. You certainly could stake a real claim for a place in the first team if you play well," said the boss. "Maybe the door is now opening up for people like Danny Wilson, Dani Pacheco, Nathan Eccleston - people who've done well in training and who work hard every day. They deserve their chance. "Martin Kelly did well in his last couple of games he played and created a lot of headlines. A lot of people took notice of his performance. I'm hoping he can keep that going and I hope Danny can have that sort of success. "I have faith in the young players and whatever happens on Thursday night I won't lose faith in them. But it's an opportunity for them to force their way into my attention even more. "The European games have been really good for the club so far. It's been good to see people like Kelly, Jonjo Shelvey and Jay Spearing take the opportunity to show what they can do. "David Ngog has used the European games to partly force his way into the first team as a regular alongside Fernando Torres."
