Jack Robinson became Liverpool's youngest ever player yesterday. The under 18's defender, who has yet to play for the reserves, became the Reds' youngest ever player at 16 years and 250 days when he replaced Ryan Babel in the 88th minute against Hull. "We have been lucky because the reserve team have been away and we had problems with injuries, with Fabio and Insua. He was training with us one day, so we felt he could be an option," said Rafael Benitez. "We knew he was a young player. I am really pleased. He is now clutching his shirt and doesn't want to give to anyone."
