Robbie Keane: I want to repay Tottenham's great fans

Robbie Keane: things didn't go to plan for the Irishman at Liverpool[LNB] Robbie Keane has returned to White Hart Lane after Tottenham[LNB]finalised a knockdown £12million payment with Liverpool[LNB]to end the Republic of Ireland striker's nightmare six-month stay at Anfield.[LNB]A deal for the 28-year-old was reached in the final hour of Sunday's transfer window.[LNB]Should a first set of clauses be triggered based on success, such as Spurs avoiding relegation, the fee will rise to £15m and it could reach £20m if a further host of clauses are met over the four years of the Ireland captain's contract.[LNB]Keane said: 'It was a difficult decision to leave Tottenham in the summer. It proved not to be the right move for me.[LNB]'I know some Spurs fans will feel I let them down by leaving but I can assure them I shall be giving my all for this club. The club has terrific fans and I want to repay them for all their support. We've got to get on and fight our way up that League table.'[LNB]Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said: 'We never wanted Robbie to leave in the summer. We acknowledged the six years' dedicated service he gave this club and reluctantly let him go.[LNB] 'I am delighted that he has chosen to return.
