New signing Albert Riera claims he was only ever interested in joining Liverpool after sealing his move to Anfield from Spain.
Riera, 26, joined the Reds from Espanyol on transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £9million.
The Spain winger was also linked with moves to Everton and Tottenham Hotspur throughout the summer, but insists Liverpool was always his number one choice.
Riera, who stated his intention to leave Espanyol after missing out on selection for Spain's Euro 2008 squad, spent a brief spell on loan with Manchester City in 2006.
"As soon as I knew they were interested in me I knew there was only one club that I wanted to sign for and thankfully it has now happened," he told the Reds' official website.
"I know I will have to work very hard to get into the team because there are a lot of good players here but that is a challenge I am looking forward to.
"It feels really good to be a Liverpool player and I am really happy to be at this club.
"I am looking forward to working with the manager and the players."
