Reina: Liverpool can bounce back from chaos

Goalkeeper Jose Reina has admitted the ongoing takeover saga surrounding Liverpool has left the club in "chaos".

The Royal Bank of Scotland could choose to call in the £237m acquisition debt owed by owner Tom Hicks and George Gillett, due for payment in full this Friday, should the proposed New England Sports Ventures takeover deal be blocked by the High Court, which may lead to Hicks and Gillett's Kop Holdings company being placed in administration and the club being docked nine points by the Premier League.

Reina was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror: "It's still too soon to talk about the takeover because there is still some chaos down there. I'm worried. I'm worried because of the situation of the club. But I am also optimistic and I think we're going to bounce back and be our best in a few months. At least that's what I hope."

He added: "The only thing we can do is play football and the things that are going on around the club, the ownership situation and all that, is out of our hands.

"All that we can do now is hope and pray for a good finish and a very good ending."
