Reds upbeat over Torres
Liverpool medical staff are preparing to visit Fernando Torres in Spain hopeful their star striker's injury is not as bad as first feared.Torres was due to have a scan on Tuesday after pulling up with an adductor injury in the closing stages of Spain's World Cup final victory on Sunday. The 26-year-old, who had only entered the action in Johannesburg as an extra-time substitute, looked in clear discomfort at the time but Liverpool are positive having spoken to Spanish training staff. The club's newly-appointed head of sports medicine and sports science Peter Brukner told LFC TV: "It certainly looked like it might have been bad but it seems not too bad."He certainly walked up the steps to receive his medal without too many problems, so we are optimistic it is not going to be too bad."But really we can't say too much until we have had him properly assessed."
