Reds swoop for Raul Meireles

Liverpool have added Portugal international Raul Meireles to their squad after allowing Javier Mascherano to join Barcelona.
The 27-year-old midfielder moves to Anfield from FC Porto where he won four domestic titles.
"Liverpool are an historic club and I am happy for the move," he said of his move. "Roy Hodgson was key because he worked so hard to get me.
"I hope the fans will one day remember me for my success at Liverpool. It has been a long time coming but finally I have achieved my dream of playing in England."
Meireles has penned a four-year contract with the Reds who have paid 14 million euros to land the player.
He played for Portugal at this summer's World Cup and was particularly impressive in the 7-0 demolition of North Korea.
