Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has continued his January transfer window policy of signing highly-rated youngsters by sealing a deal to bring Ajax teenager Jordy Brouwer to Anfield.
The 18-year-old striker follows in the footsteps of Daniele Padelli and Emiliano Insua who have already signed for the Reds this month.
"We've made a good signing for the future in Jordy," chief executive Rick Parry told the club's official website.
"He's had a youth contract at Ajax, but has opted to build his career at Liverpool.
"We've been monitoring his progress and look forward to developing his potential at Anfield."
Meanwhile, reports suggest midfield duo Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia are set to open discussions about new contract extensions with the club.
Both players moved to Merseyside in August 2004 - Alonso in a £10.6million switch from Real Sociedad, while Garcia sealed a £6million transfer from Barcelona.
Alonso continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid while Garcia - who is sidelined for the rest of the season with cruciate ligament damage - is wanted by Atletico Madrid.
