Reds opt for Crouch op
09 Mar 2007 - 12:44:01
Liverpool striker Peter Crouch could be sidelined for a month after the club confirmed he will have an operation on the nose he broke in last month's 4-0 victory against Sheffield United.
The 26-year-old England international had been keen to postpone surgery until the end of the season but is now booked in to have the operation on Friday.
Crouch is expected to miss this month's Premiership games against Aston Villa and Arsenal as well as England's Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra.
The former Aston Villa and Southampton forward had told the club's official website: "The thing is, I know that because of the injury my breathing isn't as it should be at the moment.
"If it's affecting my performances I know I'm going to have to get it over and done with.
"The doctor has said that after getting it done I'll be out for three to four weeks.
"That would be really frustrating because at this stage of the season I really don't want to miss any games."
