FA Cup holders Liverpool have been drawn at home to Arsenal in the tie of the third round while Macclesfield Town, bottom of League Two and managed by Paul Ince, travel to Chelsea.
There are four all-Premiership encounters with Portsmouth drawn against Wigan Athletic, Manchester United will be at home to Aston Villa, and Everton play Blackburn Rovers at Goodison Park.
Conference strugglers Tamworth will play Championship side Norwich City at The Lamb while Salisbury City, after drawing with Nottingham Forest in the second round on Sunday, will entertain Charlton Athletic if they can win the replay at the City Ground.
Steve Bruce's Birmingham City will fancy their chances of beating Newcastle United at St Andrew's while Championship strugglers Hull City have been handed an intriguing home clash with Middlesbrough.
