Reds beaten late on

Aaron Lennon scored in injury time to see Tottenham come from behind to seal a 2-1 victory over LiverpoolIt was an open start to the game, with both sides pressing for an early advantage and Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes had to be on his guard to tip away a Maxi Rodriguez shot.Spurs felt they could have had a penalty after Alan Hutton was hauled down, but they should have been ahead soon after when Jermain Defoe, on for the injured Rafael Van der Vaart, saw his six-yard shot miraculously blocked by Skrtel to deny a certain goal.Gomes again had to be alert to deflect a Raul Meireles effort wide, but he could not do anything to stop Liverpool going ahead shortly before the break when Skrtel reacted first to a loose ball to prod home.Spurs thought they had found a way back into the game when David Ngog handled Bale`s free-kick in the area, but Defoe wasted his penalty, dragging it wide. But Defoe was let off the hook four minutes later when Spurs drew level after a surging run from Luka Modric saw Skrtel turn into his own net.Meireles slammed a 20-yard effort just wide as both sides went for it, while Defoe had an effort ruled out for offside. But Lennon won it when he latched onto Peter Crouch`s flick to slot home.
