Reds to make summer Falcao swoop after contact

The agent of Radamel Falcao has confirmed contact from Liverpool regarding a permanent switch to Anfield in the Summer. The striker has not made the impact many would expect he would and reports suggest that United have told Monaco they will not be making a bid for the player in the summer.

The 29-year-old has scored just 4 goals in 23 appearances whilst on loan at United with the Colombian being given increasingly fewer opportunities to shine at Old Trafford. Louis van Gaal did have the option to make the deal permanent but the report in the Express suggests that United have already decided against taking up that option.

The striker, who was one of the most feared in Europe at Atletico with a price-tag to match came close to a move to Real Madrid until his injury setback forced him out of the World Cup and off many top clubs shopping lists. The player has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Liverpool with Liverpool with the agents contact with the later said to put them in the driving seat.

Falcao scored an incredible 70 goals in 91 appearances for Atletico Madrid before joining Monaco in 2013 and has been described as a pure striker who is able to adapt to any position and score with various parts of his body and is strong with either foot.

Liverpool haven't had much joy with recent forward signings and Balotelli, Lambert and Borini are all thought to be heading for the Anfield exit.
