Liverpool have suspended goalkeeper Charles Itandje for 14 days while the club investigate his conduct during the Hillsborough memorial service. On Wednesday, the Reds held a service to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster which claimed the lives of 96 supporters. However, Itandje's conduct during that service has prompted an investigation following pictures appearing to show the Frenchman laughing. His actions sparked local outrage, with hundreds of Liverpool supporters reportedly complaining about his behaviour on internet message boards. A Liverpool spokesman confirmed: "Charles Itandje has now been officially suspended for 14 days by the club while we investigate his conduct during the Hillsborough Memorial Service." Itandje was told not to report to training on Friday by manager Rafa Benitez and the situation is likely to cast fresh doubt over his Anfield future. The 26-year-old joined Liverpool in 2007 from Lens and has made seven appearances in cup competitions for the club. He has yet to feature in the first team this season and is currently Benitez's third-choice keeper behind Jose Reina and Diego Cavalieri.
