Reds crash to cup defeat

Liverpool went out of the FA Youth Cup at the weekend. The Reds were 2-0 up and cruising against Man Utd in the FA Youth Cup quarter final at Anfield on Sunday. However, a red card and a penalty allowed United to get back into it and they eventually won 3-2. It was a bad tempered game that saw both sides eventually reduced to nine men. "It was totally disappointing and frustrating because a lot of people came out to support us and I told the lads to be focused and put on a very good performance," under 18's coach Rodolfo Borrell told LFC TV at the final whistle. "We don't look for excuses and I just think we lost our composure when Sama received a red card and they got a penalty. "We were then not at the level we expect as a team and we lost our control and shape. "Although they are a very good side it hurts because we were 2-0 up at home against Manchester United at Anfield, and we now need to bounce back from this as soon as possible. "We can learn a lot from this situation. You can not lose your composure like we did. Obviously they are young lads but they have to learn quickly because they want to make a step forward in the future for the first team."
