Liverpool are looking to arrange a pre-season tour of Asia this summer, according to officials from Thailand and Hong Kong. The tour would also include a stop in Singapore, with Liverpool visiting the three countries to strengthen their fan base. Worawi Makudi, president of the Football Association of Thailand, claims to have been approached by Liverpool representative Steve McMahon. "We've had a few meetings already and the visit is very likely to happen," Worawi said. "We have so many Liverpool fans in Thailand, this will be great for them and great for Thai football." Rafa Benitez's Reds, currently third in the Premier League, may face the Thailand national team before going on to face Singapore. Lam Shing Kui, general secretary of Hong Kong's soccer federation, has also confirmed Liverpool's interest. He told the South China Morning Post: "We are still working out the details. If Liverpool come they will play against the Hong Kong team." If the tour is confirmed Liverpool will follow Manchester United to Asia, with Sir Alex Ferguson's side set to play games in China, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia in July.
