Rave reviews for new Lucas[LNB]LUCAS LEIVA has revealed that extra hours on the training pitch is the secret behind his bright start to the pre-season.[LNB]The Brazilian midfielder capped another fine display with a goal in Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Saturday.[LNB]First-half goals from Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan condemned Rafa Benitez's side to their third defeat of pre-season, but Lucas' display, with new signing Alberto Aquilani ruled out for the big kick-off, brought more rave reviews from the Reds boss.[LNB]Lucas admits he too is satisfied with his current levels of performance but accepts he still has work to do to ensure he retains a regular starting role in the season ahead.[LNB]'Of course I was happy to score against Atletico, although I would rather the team have won the game instead of me getting the goal,' said the 22-year-old, who is preparing for his third season at Anfield.[LNB]'But it was good for me to start and end the pre-season well. I am doing extra work to put some weight and strength on and now I am just focussed on the season.[LNB]'Sometimes I hear things said about me, but to be honest I don't care too much. I only care about the team and the squad.[LNB]'Now I have to focus on the forthcoming season and continue to work hard and improve.[LNB]'I will try to prove I have the quality to be in the team and hopefully help Liverpool win the title.'
