Raul - We can upset Liverpool

Real Madrid's evergreen striker Raul believes they can still progress to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The Liga giants have an uphill battle to stay in the competition at Liverpool's expense after suffering a 1-0 first leg defeat at Santiago Bernabeu. Despite needing to win the return game in Merseyside, Raul knows Real will have chances against Rafa Benitez's side and has urged his team-mates to believe they can still progress. "We know that we will have chances and that we must not stop believing," he told AS. "That is how Madrid have to play and we cannot wait for the game. This team can win at Anfield." Meanwhile, Raul wants former Spurs boss Juande Ramos to be given a long-term contract after working wonders at the club. Los Merengues' captain has been delighted at the way the new coach has changed the whole outlook at the Bernabeu and thinks that he should be kept on by whoever wins the presidency in the summer. Ramos has overseen a ten-game winning streak and moved Madrid to within four points of Barcelona when it appeared that the title race was all-but over only a few weeks ago. "He has done a great deal," he continued. "The team improved a lot after losing in Barcelona and we are still going from game-to-game. "In January we worked very hard and we played like every game was a final. His work is there for all to see and he has been very good and could be in charge of Madrid for a long time."
