Sergio Ramos is confident that Real Madrid can end Liverpool's UEFA Champions League dreams this season.[LNB] The two European heavyweights are set to go head-to-head in the last-16 of this season's competition, with the first leg of their knockout encounter set to be staged at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.[LNB]Ramos admits that Real face a tough test if they are to book a safe passage into the quarter-finals, but remains in optimistic mood heading into the game.[LNB]He believes that the strong Spanish contingent which exists at Liverpool means the Reds will not arrive in Madrid as a surprise package, while he also feels that Real possess the necessary attacking weapons to send Rafa Benitez's men packing.[LNB]"The match against Liverpool will be sensational because there will be two of the best teams in the world on show. This round will not be easy," Ramos told skysports.com.[LNB]"I am always optimistic and I believe that, with much effort and hard work during the two matches, Real Madrid are the favourites to go through.[LNB]Pressure"The presence of so many Spaniards at Liverpool means we can avoid any surprises as each team knows the characteristics of the other.[LNB]"The key to the match, though, is our team. If we are able to play like we have been doing in recent weeks, then victory should be ours.[LNB]"A good score? It will be difficult, but a 2-0 lead would put us in excellent shape heading to Anfield.[LNB]"We have been preparing for this game for so long and it will seem like a final. We desperately want to go far in the Champions League and a first leg lead could be crucial."[LNB]Ramos added: "People keep talking about how Liverpool's attack is so good, but we are powerful too. (Arjen) Robben, (Gonzalo) Higuain and Raul are as good as anything Liverpool have got.[LNB]"The key then this Wednesday will be to pressure the Reds from the off and not to make any mistakes defensively."[LNB]
