Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez insists his in-form side can get even better after watching the Reds cruise to a comfortable 4-0 win against hapless Bolton Wanderers at Anfield.
The win extended Liverpool's unbeaten Premier League start to the season to 14 matches as they moved up to third in the table.
Since drawing 0-0 at Blackburn Rovers a month ago, the Reds have hit a rich vein of form, scoring 21 goals and conceding only one in their last five matches in all competitions.
After Sunday's victory, Benitez said: "It wasn't a fantastic performance from us but we scored four goals, could have had a lot more and we must be pleased.
"To score four goals against a tough team is really good and in Fernando Torres we have a player who keeps defenders very busy throughout the game.
"We are much closer now to the top of the table than we have been in recent years and we have a much better squad.
"We are scoring a lot of goals and I think we can still improve and get even better.
"We still have the likes of Xabi Alonso, Daniel Agger, Jermaine Pennant, Fabio Aurelio and Steve Finnan to come back and they are all important players for us.
"We have a lot of confidence and we need to keep our form going and see if the other teams will make mistakes and drop points.
"December and January are important months because we have to play a lot of games, but I have confidence in my team and I think we will be stronger in the second half of the season."
