Rafa: Give Torres protection

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has urged Premier League referees to give Fernando Torres more protection from over-zealous defenders.
The Reds chief fears that his £20million star striker, who grabbed a hat-trick in the midweek Carling Cup victory over Reading, could miss vital games if he continues to be targeted by heavy-handed tactics.
"People keep wondering whether Fernando will be in the starting line-up on Saturday when they should be asking why he isn't getting more protection," said the Spaniard.
"That is the real question and it needs addressing. Every time he goes out there he faces a physical problem from centre backs.
"People have to decide whether they want football to be worth watching or not."
Benitez has spoken out after seeing the former Atletico Madrid star subject to some rough treatment during the 4-2 third round win over the Royals.
"It is fortunate that he is a strong boy and can stand up to the challenge, but there is always a chance he could pick up an injury that may keep him out for two or three days, or even two or three months," he continued.
"I was trying to explain my feelings during the game about how he was being kicked all the time but I do not need to now. Watch the video and make your own minds up.
"Everyone should do that and decide whether they want to watch that kind of football or a better standard.
"The answer is clear - players with quality must be given better protection."
