Rafa - I've enough to strengthen
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes he has got enough money to bring in the players he wants this summer. The Spaniard's assertion comes amid continuing worries over the club's finances after their parent company suffered a £42.6million loss last year, while there is uncertainty over the refinancing of the £350m debt which owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett took on to buy the club. But Benitez says he is only looking to sign a couple of players this summer and believes he has enough funds to land his targets. He told the Liverpool Echo: "We knew it could be difficult because there is a crisis all around the world. Enough money "Clearly we don't have too much to spend but I think we have enough money to add the one or two players that we need. "I'm very happy with the squad we've got. "This season has been really good and we've competed on all fronts. "If we can sign one or two players then I'm really positive that we can improve." Challenge ahead Benitez signed a new five-year contract with the club in March and he is relishing the challenge ahead, including attempting to win a first-ever Premier League title. "When I decided to sign a new contract I did it because Liverpool Football Club is more than a club," he said. "It is the heart of the city. It is our life and for the people here it means so much. "I thought I had to sign. We have to fight. We have to do it."
