Rafa: We must win against Wolves

Rafael Benitez has admitted that Liverpool cannot afford to lose their Boxing Day clash with Wolves at Anfield.

Benitez has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks with the Reds struggling to keep pace with the Premier League's top four.

They are currently down in seventh place in the table after losing for the seventh time in the league this season at Portsmouth last weekend.

The likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa, Manchester City and even Birmingham City all stand in Liverpool's way of a top four finish and a place in next season's Champions League and Benitez is aware that another slip-up at home to Wolves would be unacceptable.

"We have to win," said the under-fire Spanish coach. "We must approach every game looking to win.

"You never know what will happen. This year all the teams are losing more games.

"We have confidence because in the past - for two or three seasons - we have done well in the second half of the league season.

"We have won a lot of games in a row and have confidence that, if we have players fit, we will do that again."
