Rafa hails Reds display

Rafa Benitez praised his players following Liverpool's 4-1 win at Manchester United but admits the title race is still very much in the hands of Sir Alex Ferguson's side.[LNB] Liverpool moved to within four points of the leaders, although United have a game in hand, courtesy of a fine performance at Old Trafford.[LNB]Saturday's victory caps a memorable week for Liverpool, following on from a 4-0 drubbing of Real Madrid on Tuesday that saw Benitez's side progress to the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.[LNB]Eight goals in two games against the Spanish and English champions is a remarkable achievement and Benitez feels his charges deserve full credit.[LNB]Confidence"I have good players with a good mentality and character," he said. [LNB]"The players had confidence before the game and then worked very hard to play well against a very good team.[LNB]"We knew we had to win, and it was very difficult after conceding a goal, but still we went forward and pushed and tried and believed.[LNB]"It was a great game. I think we have played better, but not against teams at the level of United so I am really pleased for the players."[LNB]RealisticBenitez was realistic in his assessment of the implications for the title race, but hopes his side can continue their form to make life as uncomfortable for United as possible.[LNB]He said: "The league is very difficult but at least we now have more options and we are more confident that we can beat anyone and stay closer.[LNB]"The main thing today was to get three points so I am very proud and pleased."[LNB]
