Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has dismissed claims he has lodged a bid for Argentine star Ezequiel Lavezzi. Both English and Italian reports have claimed that the Reds have made a £12million bid for the Napoli front-man. The 24-year-old is very highly-rated, but Benitez has insisted he is not ready to sign him. "We never contacted Lavezzi and we have no intention of doing so," he is quoted in the Daily Mail. "We want to put a stop to these rumours." And Lavezzi has also told the Italian press that he is more than hopeful of remaining in Sicily - but he wants some of his demands met first. "I want to come back to Napoli, but promises must be respected", he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I hope to solve the situations. Napoli officials know my telephone number, but for the moment nobody has called me. "Should people love me, they must respect my decisions. "I'm will not go away for money or because I don't feel good. I want to come back and playing with Napoli, but things must be put right."
