iverpool boss Rafa Benitez has refused to be drawn on Rick Parry's impending departure from Anfield.[LNB] The Reds confirmed earlier on Friday [LNB]that Parry was set to quit his role as chief executive at the end of the season.[LNB]The development has been seen as a victory for Benitez in the power struggle that has enveloped the Anfield boarding room over the last few seasons.[LNB]However, Benitez insists Parry's departure will have no implications on his ongoing contract talks with the club.[LNB]"I think it's a decision between the owners and Rick Parry," Benitez told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"We have very important games coming up (so) we have to work together. [LNB]"Rick will stay here until the end of season so we'll work together for the rest of the season and after this we will wish him all the best. [LNB]"It a decision between them and normally I like to just concentrate on football. Football operations is my responsibility and that's it.[LNB]FocusWhen asked if Parry's exit had any implications on his new contract, Benitez said: "Not really. We had the last press conference and I was talking about contact between owners and my advisers and still they have to talk.[LNB]"I am just thinking about football operations so I will not talk about this because it is a decision between them and I will still do the same.[LNB]"I want to concentrate on football, on games, on players that part of football business."[LNB]The Spaniard is confident there will not be any problems working with Parry for the rest of the season.[LNB]"I don't think so. We know everyone wants the best for the club. We'll try to work together, try to win games and to be successful," noted Benitez.[LNB]Benitez revealed there had been no progress on his contract negotiations.[LNB]"No they have to talk to the advisors of the owners and my lawyer," concluded Benitez.[LNB]
