Rafa Benitez tips Steven Gerrard for PFA Player of the Year

Gerrard has been in electric form this season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions including a hat-trick against Aston Villa on Sunday. And there is no doubt that this is largely down to the dynamic performances of Gerrard, who led Liverpool to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, defeating Real Madrid in the last sixteen. To say one is the best above anyone else is difficult because there are a lot of quality players about, but he is one of the best. That is clear," he added. [LNB]United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has won the award two years in a row but Benitez believes Gerrard can add to his previous win in 2006 and said: "He is more mature, he is still learning and tactically he is improving.
