Hull City's Michael Turner _300[LNB]RAFA BENITEZ is ready to look elsewhere for a centre-half after Hull City slapped a £11million price tag on Michael Turner.[LNB]The Liverpool boss is a keen admirer of the 25-year-old defender who played a key role in keeping the Tigers in the Premier League last season.[LNB]However, the Reds' initial bid of £5million has been rejected and Benitez is unwilling to be held to ransom.[LNB]With the two clubs so far apart in their valuation the manager will now pursue other options with Portsmouth's Sylvain Distin and Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross alternative targets.[LNB]The need to sign a centre-back has become even more pressing after Jamie Carragher twisted his left ankle early on in Saturday's 2-1 friendly defeat to Atletico Madrid at Anfield.[LNB]Liverpool were without any senior centre-backs for the majority of the game, with young Spaniards Danny Ayala and Mikel San Jose enduring a tough afternoon.[LNB]The Reds are awaiting Carragher's scan results today, while Martin Skrtel (hamstring) and Daniel Agger (back) also face a race against time to be fit for Sunday's Premier League opener at Tottenham.[LNB]With Sami Hyypia and Alvaro Arbeloa having left Anfield this summer, Benitez desperately needs some defensive cover but he admits cash is tight.[LNB]'It is something I have to talk with the club about,' he said.[LNB]'We have some ideas and we have to discuss these ideas. We will see what will happen. We are talking about these things.
