Poyet backs Suarez

Gus Poyet has backed Luis Suarez to be a big success at Liverpool. The Brighton manager believes his fellow Uruguayian has the ability and attitude to succeed in English football, especially if he can forge a decent partnership with Andy Carroll. "I'm sure that he will enjoy football in England and that he'll do very, very well," said Poyet. "Of course if you compare the two leagues (England and Holland) it's totally different. "But what I do believe and I always say from knowing first hand is if you get a Uruguayan player in your team, because of our mentality, you will always, always get something from him. "Luis is a powerful player. He scores different goals, he can play up front on his own going everywhere or off a big striker like Carroll. "Definitely I like him more when you play him up front. He can play in a two up front. "He's very clever in his movements and of course he wants to get the ball in the position to score because he's a striker. "I know that he's a very nice boy. He's very calm and a family man. "Of course he needs time to adapt to a new city and to a new language, even if he does speak a little bit of it."
