Poll: Where will Liverpool finish this season?

06 October 2010 13:55
Liverpool have suffered their worst start to a season in 57 years, and find themselves languishing third from bottom in the Premier League.

The once mighty Anfield club began the season in financial crisis, and were hoping for stability from new manager Roy Hodgson.

But even the experienced former Fulham and Inter Milan boss has been powerless to halt their decline. Hodgson watched on in anguish as his side lost at home to Northampton Town in the Carling Cup, and then to Premier League newcomers Blackpool in the league. Predictably there have been calls for his head.

Star striker Fernando Torres is suffering a crisis of form and Steven Gerrard continues to be linked to a move away from the club he loves.

But hope may be on the horizon. Liverpool have all but been sold to Boston Red Sox owners New England Sports Ventures and some much-need financial clout could be forthcoming in time for the January window.

Whether Hodgson will survive the cut is yet to be seen, but the big question is where will Liverpool finish the season in the Premier League? Is relegation a real possibility? Or could extra funds see them make a remarkable run for the Champions League spaces?

Vote now, and we'll report back with the results before the week is out!
