Pennant reveals Spain dream

Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has responded to reports linking him with Real Madrid by admitting it would be a dream to play in Spain.

Pennant, 25, has been a fringe member of Rafael Benitez's squad since his arrival from Birmingham City in 2006.

The former Arsenal youngster has started just two Premier League games this season and has been linked with a move away from Merseyside in the transfer window.

Spanish champions Real are believed to be surprise suitors and an interested Pennant claims he would love to play in La Liga.

Atletico Madrid has also been mentioned as a possible destination for the winger, whose contract expires at the end of the current season.

"I want to play on a regular basis and my dream is to do that in Spain," said Pennant.

"My style of play would fit into the Spanish way."
