Pennant nears Zaragoza move
Jermaine Pennant is close to completing a move to Real Zaragoza after passing a medical.[LNB] The 26-year-old is expected to put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal on Friday.[LNB]Pennant spent five months on loan with Portsmouth at the end of last season after falling out of favour at Liverpool[LNB]With his contract at Anfield ending in the summer, he was said to be keen on a switch overseas and was linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier this year.[LNB]However, he is now set to join up with the Spanish side's newly-promoted rivals by the end of the week.[LNB]KeenPennant becomes Zaragoza's first signing of the summer and joins for nothing on a three-year deal.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "I wanted to come to Spain and I had offers from important teams in Europe but joined Real Zaragoza.[LNB]"I really want to get started and do well in the league."[LNB]Pennant made 14 appearances for Pompey during his loan stint last term having figured on only four occasions in a frustrating spell for Liverpool.[LNB]
