No loan move for Cisse

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is adamant that Djibril Cisse will not be allowed to leave Anfield on loan next season.

The injury-jinxed Frenchman spent last term on loan with Marseille, and scored eight goals in 21 appearances for the club.

However, the 25-year-old striker will either return to Merseyside or leave the Reds on a permanent basis this summer.

Rafa Benitez told the club's official website: "The situation with Cisse is clear.

"If another club wants him, they must buy the player. We do not want another loan."

Cisse moved to Liverpool three years ago in a £14million switch from Auxerre, but injuries restricted him to 43 starts and 36 substitute appearances for the club.

His goal tally for the Reds is 24 in that time.
