Head coach Michael Skibbe has admitted that Eintracht Frankfurt are unlikely to be able to afford to make a move for Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin.
The 30-year-old Ukraine international spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin and continues to be linked with a return to the Bundesliga.
However, Skibbe says that his club are not likely to be among the bidders in the January transfer window.
He commented: "We have a shortage up front following the injuries to Ioannis Amanatidis and Martin Fenin,
"But I really do not think we are in a financial position to be able to afford a player like Andriy Voronin. I really do not think so.
