Liverpool striker David Ngog believes he can cope with the hardest defenders in the game after being toughened up by the Premier League.[LNB]The 20-year-old Frenchman has had to step up due to injury worries over star striker  Fernando Torres and has made 13 starts and 15 appearances from the bench.[LNB]Ngog, who has weighed in with seven goals, said: 'No game in the Premier League is ever simple, but especially away from home. A lot of the teams are very physical and make you fight for everything.[LNB] In with the big boys: Ngog is prepared to battle for Liverpool[LNB]'You have to be strong and really battle to get possession and keep it until your team-mates can get forward in support. It wasn't something I found easy at first.[LNB]'Now I think I am getting stronger in those situations. The more experience you have of playing like that the more confident you become.[LNB]'I think I'm becoming a better player and know I need to do that. If I can I will be happy. I've managed to score some goals which is pleasing. But that's what people expect of strikers, it's our job. Hopefully I can get more in the future.'[LNB]Torres looks back to his best after returning to full fitness and the Spain international's recovery has restricted Ngog to three substitute appearances since starting the 3-1 win at Unirea Urziceni at teh end of last month.[LNB]But he added in the Liverpool Echo: 'It's great to have Fernando back in the team again. He obviously helps us all to play better because he is so good. [LNB]'Also, for a young striker like me it's great to have someone like that here. He's one of the best in the world. All I can do is be ready and take an opportunity to play when I get it.'[LNB] Liverpool legend Phil Thompson calls on Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres to issue quit threat to under-fire ownersLiverpool bow to Riera's request as they prepare to grant Spartak loan dealLiverpool boss Benitez tips Aquilani to start making an impact at AnfieldLiverpool boost as defenders Skrtel and Aurelio near injury comebacksLiverpool boss claims Mascherano is close to agreeing new Anfield dealLIVERPOOL FC
