England must win their next group game admits Steven Gerrard. England need to beat Slovenia on Wednesday to keep their World Cup hopes alive or risk crashing out in the Group Stage. "This is our last chance and as captain I have to make sure we don't feel sorry for ourselves and that we go out on Wednesday and perform a lot better," said Gerrard. "We need to get back to our qualifying performances. We had the majority of the team firing on all cylinders then, so we need to recover the spirit really quickly and recapture that sort of form. "I agree with the manager and we need to find more spirit. "We weren't aggressive enough against Algeria and we never pressed for the ball or won it back quickly enough. "We never showed enough urgency and we certainly weren't clinical enough around the box. "I thought the first game would get the cobwebs out of our system. I was very surprised with the Algeria result. We prepared very well, we felt good and yet we haven't delivered a result. "It's added a lot more pressure for Wednesday but as a player you have got to thrive on that pressure. "It's difficult to put your finger on what's happened. There is a lot of pressure on the guys, there's no lying about that, but we knew that coming into it and we have to accept that."
