Milan Jovanovic: Europa League goal against Bucharest will kick-start my Liverpool career

Milan Jovanovic fired Liverpool into the last 32 of the Europa League then insisted it would kick-start his Anfield career. The 29-year-old clinched a 1-1 draw against Steaua Bucharest and after playing a bit part for much of this season, feels he now deserves an extended run in the side. The Serbia striker said: 'I was really satisfied with the goal and it was very important for us - I was really happy to get the chance to play and I really hope to play more games now. Heading the right way: Jovanovic insists his goal is the start of something special 'It's difficult to speak about not playing. But the fact is I have a three-year contract here. I'm patient.' Jovanovic now has two goals this season following his summer switch from Standard Liege, the other being in the Carling Cup defeat at home to Northampton. He was far happier after this goal, however, admitting: 'We didn't play that well but we got the result we needed and that is all that matters. 'I think a draw was about fair. It was a really hard game for us. Qualification was at stake and we have achieved our goal.'  Liverpool and Everton should move in together, says former chief BroughtonLIVERPOOL v Aston Villa: Long term absentee Jamie Carragher replaced by Sotirios KyrgiakosSteaua Bucharest 1 Liverpool 1: Reds qualify despite Pepe Reina howler England suffer World Cup humiliation as they fail in bid to land 2018 finalsEUROPA LEAGUE LIVE: Steaua Bucharest 1 Liverpool 1 - all the action as it happenedThe Friday Five: Mourinho's most memorable moments of madness!
