It's been a rough week for Real Madrid. Humbled in the Spanish Cup by third division Alcorcon on Tuesday, they learned on Wednesday that Cristiano Ronaldo will be absent for next week's Champions League return away to AC Milan.[LNB]The results of an MRI scan on the Portugal winger's ankle revealed he is still not ready to return, ablow given that they lost 3-2 at home to Milan eight days ago.[LNB]Ronaldo, who first sustained the injury during the Champions League match against Marseille in September then aggravated it for Portugal against Hungary, had hoped to be back in time for the Milan clash. He will undergo another test in a week.[LNB] Brought down to earth: Christoph Metzelder (No 21) and his Real Madrid team-mates can barely believe what it happening at Alcorcon[LNB]Fallen idol: Madrid captain Raul was among the stars lining up against their third tier opponents[LNB]The club are still reeling from arguably their most embarrassing result of all time - the 4-0 first legloss to Alcorcon.[LNB]But the Bernabeu kings cannot point to their team selection as an excuse.[LNB]Thiswas not a side full of unproven kids or reserves - all 14 players usedon the night came from the first-team squad, at a combined cost of£125million.[LNB]Alcorcon, in contrast, have a playing staff worth about £1m. Borja Perez, the striker who scored the first and last in the hammering of Madrid, earns about £32,500 a year - around about the same amount Ronaldo earns in a day.[LNB]Madrid once again proved they are struggling to play without the former Manchester United star. [LNB]They have won one - against Real Valladolid - drawn against lowly Sporting Gijon and lost against Sevilla, AC Milan and now Alcorcon since he was injured against Marseille.[LNB]Madrid also left out Kaka, keeper Iker Casillas, Xabi Alonso, Lassana Diarra and Sergio Ramos to give others a chance to shine. But they failed. Spectacularly.[LNB]Those who left the scene of the crime have a combined 465 international caps and have won 95 major honours between them.[LNB]Real Madrid's 14 flops Jerzy DudekAge: 36Caps: 59 caps for PolandCost: Free (from Liverpool) Alvaro ArbeloaAge: 26Caps: 11 for SpainCost: £3.5m (from Liverpool)Christoph MetzelderAge: 28Caps: 47 for GermanyCost: Free (from Borussia Dortmund)Raul AlbiolAge: 24Caps: 19 for SpainCost: £13m (from Valencia)Royston DrentheAge: 22Caps: Holland Under 21 internationalCost: £9m (from Feyenoord)  Rafael van der VaartAge: 26Caps: 68 for HollandCost: £7m (from Hamburg)Esteban GraneroAge: 22Caps: Spain Under 21 internationalCost: £3.5mGutiAge: 32Caps: 13 for SpainCost: Free (homegrown) RaulAge: 32Caps: 102 for SpainCost: Free (homegrown)Ruud van NistelrooyAge: 33Caps: 64 for HollandCost: £16.5mKarim BenzemaAge: 21Caps: 27 for FranceCost: £35m (from Lyon) Giant-killers: Alcorcon savour their victory[LNB] Used subsMahamadou DiarraAge: 28Caps: 23 for MaliCost: £17.5m (from Lyon)[LNB]MarceloAge: 21Caps: 6 for BrazilCost: £4m (from Fluminense)[LNB]Fernando GagoAge: 23Caps: 26 for ArgentinaCost: £15m (from Boca Juniors)[LNB] Chelsea boss Ancelotti considers going Dutch for Real's Van der VaartFrustrated Real Madrid draw a blank in La Liga clash with Sporting Gijon Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini fears the worst after his multi-million pound team beaten by Sevilla and MilanReal's Ronaldo in ruins within four months, claims voodoo attacker[LNB]
