Liverpool and Uruguay international forward Luis Suarez has been named the FTBpro PFA Fan Player of the Season.

The Liverpool striker has been in outstanding form this season, winning the Premier League golden boot scoring 31 goals. Suarez helped himself to hat-tricks over West Brom and Cardiff and four goals in the game against Norwich. He was also instrumental in helping Liverpool to key victories over title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City. A series of man of the match performances kept Liverpool in the Premier League title race until the final day, just falling short to champions Manchester City. Suarez helped Liverpool finish 2nd and qualify for the Champions League next season after a four year absence.

Suarez was voted the FTBpro PFA Fan player of the month three times this season - in October, November and again in January and was deservedly crowned PFA Player of the Year by his peers.

Despite having knee surgery last week, Suarez is expected to be fit to represent Uruguay at the World Cup.

The FTBpro PFA Fan awards are designed to give a strong voice to the supporters who are the lifeblood of the game. The awards are endorsed by the players and supported by the clubs.

One lucky fan voter will be chosen to present Luis Suarez with the FTBpro PFA Fan Player of the Season award in person at a Liverpool home game next season.
